The Canadian Council of Occupational Hygiene (CCOH) is proud to announce that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). The MOU between the not-for-profit organizations was signed June 2 and will promote the coordinated effort to improve worker health and safety.

The relationship between CCOH and AIHA will generate joint activities which enhance and highlight the role of occupational hygienists and other OEHS professionals, advancing the practice and industry at-large. This collaboration will foster joint educational programming, including professional development activities, and contribute to the annual American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition (AIHce).

According to CCOH's President, Jason McInnis "To ensure that CCOH is able to deliver the best services to its members and represent Canadian occupational hygienists abroad, we need to forge strategic partnerships with other national occupational hygiene organizations. AIHA has had a long history of esteemed service to its members and advocacy on behalf of the larger occupational hygiene community - an impressive focus that continues to this day. We are delighted to work with AIHA and its' leadership team to deliver benefits for all our members." AIHA's President, Elizabeth Pullen, CIH, anticipates great success from the partnership. "I'm looking forward to working with CCOH, who represents Industrial Hygiene organizations in the Canadian provinces. We think that the collaboration will provide a great opportunity for both AIHA and CCOH to further our mission and goals of protecting worker health," Pullen stated.
